This is a survey course that provides an overview of the history of women’s rights and struggles in western countries, with a special focus on Canada. The course provides an interdisciplinary focus that includes the impacts of culture, religion, politics and societal values on women’s lives. The historical overview concludes with contemporary issues that include race/ethnicity, class, sexuality, body image, and violence. Also offered Online
