The course aims to promote an enhanced understanding of conceptual and methodological issues essential for effective critical appraisal of the relevant clinical literature and ultimately, improved patient care. Key topics to be covered will include: basic concepts of epidemiology; data sources and measures, study design and methodological issues in pharmacoepidemiology; and, applications relevant to population-based research and pharmacy.
