This course examines the Bible in relation to the archaeology and material culture of the Ancient Near East. It will explore how archaeological discoveries contribute to our understanding of the events, personalities and narratives of the Hebrew Bible. [Note: This course fulfills an Area 1B or Area 2A requirement for Religious Studies majors.] Prereq: Level at least 2A.
